Two friends who share a passion for fitness and nutrition, and the recovery drink they built together and refused to stop improving until it was right.
01 / The gym
Two friends, one shared passion.
Lewis and Neil met at the gym and found they brought the same passion for fitness and nutrition. That's where the friendship started.
The idea for REGENYX came later, and they built it together.
02 / The trip
Then Lewis took a trip, alone, and found a different starting point.
On a solo trip, Lewis saw how other countries and cities center their approach on recovery, not only muscle development, and how deliberately they choose protein sources that deliver it. Most of the protein conversation he knew began and ended with building muscle. Elsewhere, it began with recovery.
It landed harder because of his work. Lewis works in healthcare, and a career spent around health had already made him more curious about how people recover and what actually goes into the things they take. What he saw on that trip gave that curiosity a direction.
He came home wondering. If protein can be chosen for recovery as much as for muscle, what would it take to design one formulation that does both, with everything included, and does it better?
03 / The glass at home
A glass at home, and a question we couldn't shake.
At home, Lewis had already been mixing his own drink: everything REGENYX contains today, in one glass. He wasn't trying to prove anything. It simply left him feeling recovered and ready for tomorrow, and to him it was the combination that mattered, the protein blend, the creatine and the supporting ingredients working together.
Then the question hit. Why can't everyone have this? Lewis took it to Neil, and the two of them kept coming back to the same idea. We didn't want a shelf of separate products, one for protein, one for creatine, one for everything else. We wanted one scoop that does the job. The best, with less.
04 / The hard part
Version after version, we kept saying no.
We wanted the benefits people expect from a great protein, but we didn't want the formula to depend on a single source. So the two of us got to work, and it was relentless. We changed ingredients. We tried different protein sources. We tried blend after blend and tasted every version. Nail the flavor and the texture slipped. Fix the texture and the ingredients had to be reworked.
Iteration after iteration, we chased flavor, texture, ingredients and results all at once, and every time one of them wanted to give, Lewis and Neil said no and started again. It was slow, tedious and exhausting. It's also the reason you can taste the difference.
05 / Sunrise and sunset
Yuzu at sunrise. Peach at sunset.
We never wanted a protein drink that tastes like a protein drink. So we walked away from the usual flavors and aimed for something soft, subtle and tasteful.
Then we noticed the colors. Yuzu is the pale yellow of first light. Peach is the warm orange of the last. One for the morning you start. One for the night you close. Your whole day, bookended.
Day and Night are our founding product, not our finish line. We'll keep chasing the same result in everything that follows, with more flavors along the way.
06 / The first scoop
The one we couldn't stop sipping.
After all those versions, one finally did it. From the first sip, Lewis and Neil didn't want to stop. They both wanted another scoop, kept chilled, sipped all day long. Not a chore. Not a routine to get through. Just a drink they enjoyed.
That's how we knew. Not a number on a spec sheet. A craving, and the reason this is the one we're putting in your hands.
07 / The name
Recovery is how you come back.
The name comes from regeneration: the idea of renewing, again and again. For us, that is what recovery really is. Not a pause after a workout, but the part where you come back ready for the next one.
It's the early mornings and the hard days, and it involves the whole body, not one muscle. That's why there's a Day and a Night: one for the morning, one for the evening, both built on the same idea. And it's why Lewis and Neil both take it themselves.
We're not promising miracles. We're promising what we'd want for ourselves: ingredients we're proud of, a flavor you actually look forward to, and a routine you can keep. If that's the recovery you've been looking for, we built this for you.
